PNC Bank, the title sponsor of the Blumenthal Performing Arts’ flagship series since 2014, has signed on to continue support through 2018, helping to make the PNC Broadway Lights series possible in Charlotte.

“We are honored to have the support of this great company and team of outstanding professionals,” said Blumenthal President and CEO Tom Gabbard. “PNC demonstrates its commitment to make the arts a cornerstone of a healthy community. Their continued support ensures area residents and visitors will enjoy world class entertainment.”

In May, The Broadway League in New York awarded PNC Bank the Star of Touring Broadway Award.

The award lauds PNC’s ardent support of the Broadway Lights series, making Charlotte a Top 10 touring market. The nomination notes PNC’s keen interest in arts education programs for children.

The Broadway League is the national trade association for Broadway in New York and across the country.  The league is best known for producing The Tony Awards.

“Blumenthal’s devotion to the arts and our region makes it a tremendous community asset, a crown jewel that we are proud to call our partner,” said Weston M. Andress, PNC regional president for Western Carolinas. “We are grateful that Blumenthal nominated PNC for the Star of Touring Broadway Award, and we are honored to accept it. “
