#GivingTuesday: How Your Donation Helps Others
By Kitty JanvrinNov 28, 2017
Now that we've stuffed ourselves with turkey and gotten some great holiday deals on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it's time to see how we can give back to the community. Today on Giving Tuesday, donations are made to nonprofits all over the world in a global day of giving.
We want to showcase some of the programs your generous gifts support year-round here at Blumenthal. Thanks to your support, we are able to curate free programs that make the arts accessible to all, as we believe they should be.
This has become one of the community's most beloved programs, offering local artists of all ages the chance to share their talents on the Blumenthal stage.
Students are able to learn and perform through this program. In association with iTheatrics, Blumenthal hosts students workshops and the Broadway Junior Celebration, during which these young performers sing and dance alongside their peers.
The magic of the theater is something everyone should get to experience. Ticket scholarships allow students and families in the Charlotte area to see traveling Broadway shows. Blumenthal's partnership with Freedom School Scholars also helps hundreds of students attend special performances of Broadway musicals.
As the weather warms up from May to August, we welcome everyone to join us at Spirit Square for free movie nights, concerts and even sing-a-longs. This year, we hosted Hamiltunes and were blown away by the turn-out and your skills with Hamilton lyrics.
If you'd like to support these highlighted programs and many more, you can make a gift here. We thank you for your support and your commitment to spreading art throughout our community.
