PNC Broadway Lights season tickets sold out! New ENCORE Series added in response to strong demand

(Charlotte, NC) –The sold out sign is now officially up for PNC Broadway Lights season tickets. Charlotte’s signature Broadway series, presented by Blumenthal Performing Arts, features nine Broadway hits making their first appearance in Charlotte, including the blockbuster hit musical Hamilton.
More than 90% of current PNC Broadway Lights season ticket holders renewed their seats for the upcoming season and they will be joined by more than 5,000 new subscribers.
Because of the extraordinary season ticket sales, single show tickets for the PNC series engagements slated for Belk Theater - with the exception of the multi-week engagement of Hamilton - will be largely unavailable. Two PNC series shows at larger Ovens Auditorium will have non-season seats available for all performances. Single tickets for the engagements of On Your Feet and School of Rock at Ovens Auditorium will go on public sale in September.
The incredible response (15,070 PNC Broadway Lights season tickets have been sold) has spurred Blumenthal Performing Arts to create a new series to answer Charlotte’s demand for touring Broadway. Blumenthal’s new ENCORE Series features five of the most beloved Broadway shows of all time. All are making return engagements to the Queen City, where they have wowed past audiences and drawn some of the largest crowds in the theater’s history.
“We anticipated the PNC series could sell out to our season ticket buyers so we wanted to make sure we had another great option for our fans,” said Blumenthal President Tom Gabbard. “The shows on the ENCORE Series are milestones in both the history of Broadway and of our own Belk Theater, and they are a perfect addition to our 25th Anniversary season.”
More than 1,000 season tickets have already been sold for the new ENCORE Series. ENCORE Series ticket buyers will enjoy some great benefits that only come with season tickets. Perks include securing the best seats at the best price, before single tickets go on sale and prices rise. Buyers can also choose an extended payment plan that allows them to pay for their series tickets in up to ten installments (call 704-335-1010 for this option.).
The 5-show ENCORE SERIES includes:
Les Misérables (Dec. 13-17, 2017—Ovens Auditorium)
The Phantom of the Opera (Jan. 17-28, 2018 – Belk Theater)
Beautiful – The Carole King Musical (April 17-22, 2018 – Ovens Auditorium)
The Book of Mormon (July 24-29, 2018 – Belk Theater)
Disney’s The Lion King (Aug. 22-Sept. 9, 2018 – Belk Theater)
