Breaking news coming your way! The Charlotte Observer is kicking off the new arts season with a renewed commitment to bringing you more in-depth arts coverage -- including more features, pics and videos of local performers and artists, as well as profiles of the folks behind-the-scenes making it all happen. You can also expect more stories about how the arts impact our community as well.

You’ll hear from reporters who have covered the arts and culture beat for years—like Lawrence Toppman on theater, Lia Newman and Grace Cote on visual arts—as well as from new voices at the Observer, like Emiene Wright and Vanessa Infanzon.

“We’re thankful to see the increased coverage of the arts in Charlotte, and are grateful to the Thrive Fund to make it so,” says Tom Gabbard, president and CEO of Blumenthal Performing Arts. “The Charlotte Observer is enhancing awareness, insight and understanding of the rich variety of arts events and artists here in Charlotte. Beyond publishing in their print edition, they are also making it available online through a variety of channels to make it available to everyone.”
