Mary Doctor Scholarship
The Mary Doctor Performing Arts Scholarship Fund was established in honor of Mary Doctor, an astute Charlotte area business owner and a tremendous supporter of young people and Blumenthal Performing Arts.
Gordon Hay Scholarship
The Gordon Hay Scholarship Fund is a merit-based scholarship established in memory of Gordon Hay, an organizational development professional, who was passionate about transformational change through authentic engagement of people’s hearts and minds in the strategic work of the business. He believed passion and fire from within fueled exceptional results.
Spirit Of Service Scholarship Award
The Spirit of Service Scholarship Award was established to encourage student commitment to higher education and provide financial support for a deserving student’s college education. This financial support reinforces Blumenthal Performing Arts’ commitment to mentor the youth in our community and provide unique opportunities for youth through the Junior Ambassador Program.
Loonis McGlohon Young Jazz Artist Competition
Charlotte legend Loonis McGlohon was a world-renowned master musician, composer and visionary. In recognition of his many decades as a composer, writer, and jazz ambassador, Blumenthal Performing Arts and The Leon Levine Foundation established the Loonis McGlohon Young Jazz Artist Competition as a tribute to this special individual.
Lark Project Grant
The Lark Project Grant is a $2,000 award offered by The Paige Johnson Thomas Giving Tree and given annually to a high school student from the Charlotte area. This grant is to be used for the planning and execution of the awardee’s passion project; something that allows a young artist to explore a sector of the arts which they feel are especially compelling and relevant.
