Front of House Security Associate - PT

Position Summary
Under routine supervision, actively monitors the safety and security of Front of House guests, staff, and facilities in assigned areas of Blumenthal Performing Arts (BPA) performance and event spaces, as well as, rental spaces and grounds utilized by BPA. Provides constant visual and audio surveillance of the assigned FOH space. Performs related tasks as requested.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor safety and security in Front of House operations
- Respond promptly and professionally to any requests from the House Manager
- Provide assistance as needed to FOH usher staff, parking and food & beverage staff to address problems, concerns or situations requiring additional support
- Report to designated authority any suspicious condition, person, incident or action which could result in injury or loss to company, employee or patron
- Assist in conducting security investigations as requested
- Respond promptly and professionally to any concerns or situations brought to attention from staff, guests or emergency/police personnel
- Provide honest and accurate information to supervisor and House Manager as requested or when deemed necessary
- Open and lock doors as requested
- Responsible for ensuring all FOH doors are secured at the end of shift
- Maintain knowledge of Blumenthal Performing Arts activities and schedules as assigned
- Maintain a professional appearance and a demeanor that is warm and friendly – exhibiting high quality customer service as well as providing the public with a clear sense of a security presence
- Enforce Performing Arts Center safety & security policies and procedures; recommend changes or upgrades to policies and procedures
- Assist in training new staff as requested
- Prepare and submit accident/incident reports, etc. in the absence of Security Supervisor or House Manager and assist House Manager as requested for security issues or information needed
- Refer to policy and procedure manuals, security manuals, evacuation plans, schedules, etc.
- Utilize a two-way radio effectively and professionally
- Use earpiece to hear and understand activities
- Interact and communicate professionally with various groups and individuals such as the usher staff, House Manager, Front of House Volunteer Manager, Event Staff, Administrative Staff, Box Office, Parking Staff, Food & Beverage Director or Manager and the general public
- Perform related duties as required
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Two years of customer service experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
