Immersive Game Operator - Part Time

Position Summary
Blumenthal Arts seeks a team of Immersive Game Operators to provide essential operational support for Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition. Under the limited supervision of the Immersive Venue Operations Manager, Immersive Game Operators manage time-sensitive situations in a live game setting, including maintaining and resetting props; operating all technical aspects of the games including an app-based system, tablets, lighting and sound systems; and ensuring games run efficiently in conjunction with the Immersive Game Hosts.
This is a temporary, part-time position directly tied to the duration of Monopoly Lifesized: Travel Edition. We are hiring 9-10 Immersive Game Operators for predefined tracks that include weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Track A will be Tuesday-Saturday late afternoons and evenings averaging 25 hours a week. Track B will be full days Saturday and Sunday averaging 15 hours a week. Please indicate which track(s) you’re interested in when applying. Training will begin mid-April and the run will conclude in mid-October.
Duties & Responsibilities

Start live games, monitor progress, and keep them running on time while overseeing technical performance.

Run all technical systems, including lighting, sound, and app-based systems.

Perform daily equipment checks for all game boards, props, and scenery elements ensuring proper functionality.

Operate Q-Lab and COGS systems during game operations.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real-time to minimize disruptions during gameplay.

Report technical problems or repairs to the Immersive Venue Operations Manager.

Reset games manually and digitally between sessions, ensuring all components are ready for the next round.

Clean and organize game boards and rooms daily to maintain a professional and safe environment.

Oversee repairs and maintenance of all game props, sets, and scenery to ensure all elements are functional and safe.

Perform technical and operational tasks as assigned to support the success of the games.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by 2 years of technical theater or production experience with a focus in lighting or sound.

Bachelor’s degree in technical theater preferred

Experience in immersive or non-traditional performance spaces is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Professionalism under pressure, and a positive attitude.

Strong communications and organizational skills.

Basic carpentry skills preferred.

Experience with Q-LAB and/or COGS preferred.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Physical Requirements

Intermediate fine motor skills of the hands – must be able to handle, feel, and adequately operate tools and controls.

Ability to climb a ladder and be comfortable working at height, in confined spaces, and in dimly lit environments.
