Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

Works under the day to day supervision of the Marketing and Publicity Manager(s) but is assigned to other marketing teams/projects and will frequently support projects under the direction of the VP of Marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Serve as the department lead for grassroots partnerships for the marketing team, maintaining current relationships (including key group sales organizations) and seeking out new partners for marketing and group sales opportunities.

 

  • Act as liaison between marketing and group sales team; helps facilitate group sales marketing and messaging to acquire new prospects and cultivate existing relationships; plans and hosts group sales events as needed.

 

  • Assist with planning and organizing promotional support for shows and institutional programs; and assisting with publicity and other marketing functions including social media and email messaging/coordination as required.

 

  • Oversee Blumenthal’s promotional ticket programs on an ongoing basis; orders promotional offers on behalf of the marketing team; plans and executes advertising for these programs; updates web pages and other assets as needed.

 

  • Serve as primary contact for Blumenthal’s ticket donation program; fields requests and fulfills donation orders.

 

  • Update weekly sales tracking reports and share any valuable insight or concerns with marketing team.

 

  • Acquire press opportunities for select Blumenthal attractions, as assigned; coordination with members of the media and show press agents to arrange interviews for a variety of media outlets including print, online, TV and radio.
  • Effectively negotiate, communicate and coordinate marketing activities and information with press agents for events and key Blumenthal staff, including Ticketing, Education and Development departments.
  • Order advertising and marketing materials as assigned by marketing team members and ensure orders are correctly aligned with approved marketing budgets; maintain and update existing trade ad schedules.
  • Assist with planning all major special events, including the annual Tony Party, Blumenthal Open Houses, Camp Blumenthal and Kids' Night. Assists with planning affinity group events under the direction of marketing staff managing affinity programs.
  • Prepare and submit publicity material request forms, market profile sheets and other reports as assigned.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, marketing, entertainment or arts management, or related field supplemented by at least one year's experience in advertising/marketing/communications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. (Marketing internships may be counted toward experience in certain circumstances.)
  • Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, organizational and attention to detail are essential, as well as proficiency in math and budgeting.
  • Video editing capability is also highly desired.
  • Must be knowledgeable and experienced in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word, and display willingness and aptitude to learn new software.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently with minimum supervision or within a group, depending on the situation.
  • Some evening or weekend duties may be required.
