The Mary Doctor Performing Arts Scholarship Fund benefits graduating high school seniors within the Charlotte Region who demonstrate above-average ability and great interest in one or more areas of the performing arts. The Gordon Hay Scholarship is a merit based award for an extraordinary student who is planning a career in the performing arts and demonstrates a personal drive for excellence, scholarly accomplishment, and community engagement. The Spirit of Service Scholarship Award was established to encourage student commitment to higher education and provide financial support for a deserving student’s college education. Charlotte legend Loonis McGlohon was a world-renowned master musician, composer and visionary. In recognition of his many decades as a composer, writer, and jazz ambassador, Blumenthal Performing Arts and The Leon Levine Foundation established the Loonis McGlohon Young Jazz Artist Competition as a tribute to this special individual.
