We want to foster big dreams; that is why we created The Blumey Awards.

The Blumeys are inspirational and aspirational. Every student on that stage has a dream, and the Blumeys encourage them to reach high.

Doubling the program’s size has nearly doubled its expense, and we need your help to serve more students than ever before. Forty-three high schools throughout the Greater Charlotte region are participating this year.  We bring in top professionals from New York to work with our kids, and hire the first rate musicians who play for our Broadway shows. A student critics program in partnership with The Charlotte Observer and student musicians in the orchestra pit enhance the program.  We want our students to be inspired, to dream big, and to remember this night for the rest of their lives.  Your gift today will help those dreams come true.

“A big experience like [The Blumeys] is something that can really

be a catalyst for them to dream those big dreams”

-Tom Gabbard

When I grow up…I want to be On Broadway.

Remarkably, for one student, Eva Noblezada, winning the Best Actress Blumey was the ticket to reach her big dream. Best Actress and Actor Blumey winners fly all expenses paid to New York to perform at National High School Musical Theater Awards, known as The Jimmy’s. Eva won notice of casting agents as a semi-finalist at that performance. The next year, she was in London rehearsing with Cameron Mackintosh for the revival of Miss Saigon in the lead role of Kim.  Eva is currently headed to New York to continue her performance as Kim on Broadway.

"The Blumeys played a big part in where I am today,” says Eva.

“It's a great way to let high schoolers showcase their love for
the performing arts with their city, and it allows tremendous
opportunities for them as well.”
