Talking Baby Returns to Skewer Films, Tap-Dance on Funnybones

Apr 16, 2008 /

CHARLOTTE – It’s time to sit back, kick up your feet and laugh uproariously at a baby doll again. The Talking Baby, Charlotte native and former MTV2 pitchman will make His triumphant return Friday, May 16th as the newest cast member of Robot Johnson (www.robotjohnson.com).
Originally conceived as part of a comedy sketch entitled “The Critics,” the Talking Baby quickly became a cult sensation that caught the eye of a local advertising agency, and in 2003, the Talking Baby became a pitchman for MTV2. After a short sabbatical, Keenan’s infant alter-ego will rip into Hugh Jackman, Lindsay Lohan, and anyone else who’s made a movie since he’s been gone.
“It’s been a long <expletive> time,” says the gruff-voiced tot. “The last time I performed regularly, Britney Spears was still claiming she was a virgin. But WE knew. Even then we <expletive> knew. Talkin’ baby!”
Robot Johnson is Charlotte's premier sketch comedy troupe, giving the Queen City good humor by bad people. Shows are on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 and 10:00 pm starting May 16 at the Duke Energy Theatre, part of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.
