About Our Venues

Belk Theater At Blumenthal Arts Center

2,118 Capacity Proscenium House

The Belk Theater is the largest venue in the North Carolina Blumenthal Arts Center.

The Theater features state-of-the-art equipment, production and support capabilities and can host any event – from grand opera to rock to corporate annual meetings and lectures.

The theater is designed in a contemporary European horseshoe arrangement for an intimate atmosphere and world-class acoustics.

The most distant seat is less than 135 feet from the stage.

A hallmark of the theater’s design is some 2,400 “points of light” in the audience chamber, part of a dazzling fiber-optic network with multi-color capabilities.

Knight Theater At Levine Center For The Arts

1,192 Capacity Proscenium House

The Knight Theater joins the Mint Museum, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and The Harvey B. Gantt Center in a new cultural district on South Tryon Street that brings a whole new dimension to the Uptown art scene.

This theater seats 1,192 with seating in the orchestra, grand tier, and mezzanine levels.

Booth Playhouse At Blumenthal Arts Center

436 Capacity Proscenium House

The Booth Playhouse is a courtyard-style proscenium theater.

This intimate theater is comprised of both orchestra and gallery levels and hosts a variety of dance, choral and other musical ensembles as well as meetings, seminars and workshops.

Stage Door Theater At Blumenthal Arts Center

233 Capacity Black Box Theater

The Stage Door Theater is one of the newest spaces in the Blumenthal Arts Center. The theater is located on North College Street between Trade and Fifth Street.

With its small and versatile layout, this space is the perfect location to get up close with the stars on stage.
