Get ready, Charlotte! The city’s most vibrant cultural celebration is back and bigger than ever. For the first time, both days of the Festival of India will take place at a single, iconic location: The Belk Theater and Tryon Street in Uptown.
Day 1: A Feast for the Senses
Uptown transforms into a bustling "slice of India." Wander through Tryon Street to discover the aromas of regional cuisine, handcrafted jewelry, and traditional attire. Dive deep into India's heritage with curated cultural exhibits, an art gallery featuring over 100 local artists, and interactive experiences like henna tattoos, saree draping, and turban tying. Inside the Belk Theater, the main stage will host a non-stop lineup of performances, ranging from the ancient grace of classical dance to high-energy Bollywood spectacles.
Day 2: The Grand Finale – A Symphonic Explosion
The excitement builds through immersive workshops and food, culminating in a world-class musical event. The festival's crown jewel is a Fusion Orchestra performance on the Belk Theater stage, presented in partnership with the Charlotte Symphony.
Featuring the Bollywood-inspired orchestral music of A.R. Rahman and brought to life by JUNO-nominated vocalist Vidita Kanniks, this soul-stirring masterpiece blends the sweeping strings of a Western orchestra with the rhythmic pulse of the Indian tabla and sitar. More than just a concert, it is a magnificent celebration of harmony between East and West.

Venue Information
Blumenthal Arts Center
Located at 130 N. Tryon St. (at the corner of 5th Street and North Tryon Street) and opened in 1992. Blumenthal Arts Center houses three performance spaces: Belk Theater, Booth Playhouse, and Stage Door Theater.
Renowned architect Cesar Pelli designed the building housing these three theaters as well as the adjacent Bank of America Corporate Center and Founders Hall. A $15 million allocation from the State of North Carolina, $15 million more from a bond referendum approved by Charlotte’s citizens, and $32 million additional money contributed by individuals, corporations, and foundations were used to cover construction costs. After three years of construction, we opened our doors in November 1992. The Center’s name honors the generosity of the Blumenthal Foundation, the largest private donor to the capital campaign. Blumenthal’s flagship Belk Theater is named after the Belk Brothers Company, which donated a valuable piece of land in uptown Charlotte as the site for this beautiful arts complex.
