Richa Sharma is a renowned Bollywood singer with huge hits to her credit. She specializes in Sufi style singing and is known in the industry for the power of her vocals. Richa has won several awards including:

  • Bollywood Movie Award for the Best Singer Female 2003 - MAHI VE(Kaante)
  • Zee Cine Award for the Best Singer Female 2011 For Song Sajda (My Name is Khan)

Richa Sharma hails from a very modest background and was born in Faridabad, Haryana. She is the youngest of seven children of a temple priest. Her father Pandit Daya Shankar Upadhyaya and mother Manorma Devi taught young Richa the art of singing bhajans, particularly Mata Ke Jagran, which slowly and steadily became her destiny in the initial years of her life. Richa later received classical training and has been doing playback singing for several Bollywood movies.

Indian Expressions LLC is a Charlotte based organization that was formed to encourage music, arts and cultural performances for local audience.  Most members work on voluntary basis and help bring the best artists to the area. Their prior projects include live performances by Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal-Shekhar, Kaushiki Chakraborty, Samir-Dipalee.

Parking and Directions

A special preferred parking rate of only $5* is available for our patrons in our designated garage. This Garage is CASH ONLY.

Levine Center for the Arts Parking Garage
Located at 550 S. Tryon Street with an entrance on W. Stonewall Street.

Pay as you enter the garage.

*The $5 rate is applicable when parked in the garage after 5pm on weekdays, Mon – Fri. If parked in the garage before 5pm, the $5 rate is void. There is no time restriction for the weekend, Sat & Sun. This garage is CASH ONLY.

Wheelchair access
All of our theaters and classrooms are accessible to patrons who use wheelchairs. Most restrooms and water fountains in all facilities are wheelchair accessible, and restrooms are equipped with strobe-light as well as audio alarm systems.

Entry and exit assistance
For performances in the Knight Theater, an usher can meet patrons who need assistance at the corner of 1st and S. Tryon Streets.


Audio Description
Certain performances will be audio described for the blind or visually impaired. The Box Office will provide a schedule of these performances upon request. Audio description provides an on-going oral description of the action, sets and costumes during the performance. Each participant wears a headset, and no other patrons are able to hear the descriptions.

Large Print Programs
Large print programs are available for patrons at many performances. At the Knight Theater, simply ask any usher for assistance.

Service Animals
If you or someone in your party plans to attend an event with a service animal, please inform the Box Office when purchasing your tickets so that we may arrange for an aisle seat.


Certain performances at the Performing Arts Center will be interpreted for the hearing impaired. The Box Office will provide a schedule of these performances as requested.
