CATS and Blumenthal Performing Arts Raise Money for Two Local Humane Societies

May 24, 2011 /

Charlotte, NC – Blumenthal Performing Arts teamed up with the national tour of CATS to raise money for the Humane Society of Charlotte and Humane Society of York County.  A total of $6,765 was raised with $5,310 going to the Humane Society of Charlotte and $1,455 for the Humane Society of York County.
Through the special offer dubbed Mr. Mistoffelees Night at CATS, fans saved $10 on their tickets. Then $15 of each ticket purchased through this offer was donated to the Humane Society they selected.
“The Humane Society is thrilled to partner with Blumenthal Performing Arts and the musical CATS to bring awareness to the wonderful cats we have for adoption here at the shelter.  This donation will help us provide the necessary pre-adoption testing and vaccinations to keep them healthy and happy during their stay with us,” said Donna Canzano, Vice President of Development/Community Relations for The Humane Society of Charlotte.
“The national tour of CATS was honored to team with the Humane Society, and we’re thrilled with the amounts raised.  For nearly thirty years, we’ve enjoyed partnering with presenters like the Blumenthal in helping local humane societies across the United States and Canada provide a voice for Jellicle cats and Pollicle dogs.  We are happy to bring awareness to such a reputable organization,” said Jennifer L. Lott, National Marketing and Press Representative for CATS North American Tour.
Stacy McConaghy, a volunteer for Humane Society of York County, said, “On behalf of the Humane Society of York County, we are so very grateful that Blumenthal Performing Arts included the HSYC in Mr. Mistoffelees Night at CATS. This will benefit so so many adoptable felines, pups and help our shelter move. It is going to be such a magical fun night.”
The benefit performance takes place Sunday, May 29 at 7 p.m.
