Get to Know the Show event for PARSONS DANCE

CHARLOTTE, NC – The community is invited to an evening of dance and an opportunity to learn more about PARSONS DANCE, in preparation for an upcoming performance of PARSONS DANCE at the Knight Theater.  The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Education Department is hosting a free “Get To Know The Show” demonstration for PARSONS DANCE on Wed., Mar. 24 at 6:00 p.m. at the Knight Theater.  The evening’s programs will be led by Parsons' dancers, including a demonstration of their repertoire as well as elements of the production. This unique opportunity allows the community to ask questions about Parsons Dance and its repertory and to personally meet the cast.

All participants at the “Get To Know The Show” event will receive a voucher for a discounted ticket to PARSONS DANCE at the Knight Theater on March 25, 2010. Offer valid so long as tickets are available.

PARSONS DANCE is a contemporary dance company founded by choreographer David Parsons.  The company consists of ten full-time dancers and maintains a repertory of more than 70 works, 20 of which feature commissioned original scores by composers and musicians including Dave Matthews, Michael Gordon and Milton Nascimento. Parsons Dance has been broadcast on television through PBS, Bravo, A&E and Discovery channels.  They also performed in Times Square as part of the televised Millennium New Year’s Eve Celebration.
