Get to Know the Show events for GIRLS ONLY!
CHARLOTTE, NC – The community is invited to learn more about GIRLS ONLY with several workshops in preparation for an upcoming show at the Stage Door Theater.  The Blumenthal Performing Arts Center’s Education Department is hosting free “Get To Know The Show” demonstrations for GIRLS ONLY on Wed., May 5 from 7-8 p.m. at the Stage Door Theater, Tues., May 25 from 7-9 p.m. in the Levine Jewish Community Center, Tues., June 1 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Mint Museum of Art and Mon., June 21 from 6-8 p.m. in the Duke Energy Theatre in Sprit Square. 
The “Get To Know The Show” events are free and open to the public but interested participants must RSVP in advance by contacting the Blumenthal Education Department by phone at 704.348.5784 or via email at eiprograms@ncbpac.org. For more information, please visit BlumenthalCenter.org/workshops.
All participants at the “Get To Know The Show” events will receive a flyer with a discount to GIRLS ONLY, which plays at the Stage Door Theater May 7 – August 1. Offer valid so long as tickets are available.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, the Education Department of the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center would like to invite you to a free Get to Know GIRLS ONLY event for the upcoming comedy that celebrates the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being a woman. The Creators of the show will share how they used personal stories from their teenage diaries to develop GIRLS ONLY, and they will be joined by the Charlotte Cast and the show’s Director to give you a behind-the-scenes look at how a show like this comes together. This is a unique opportunity to meet the key personalities from the show! To top it off, one lucky person will win a pair of tickets to GIRLS ONLY: THE SECRET COMEDY OF WOMEN at the Stage Door Theater.

The ladies of the Charlotte Comedy Theatre will explore and explain comedy theatre techniques including characterization, improvisation and pantomime employed by the cast of GIRLS ONLY: THE SECRET COMEDY OF WOMEN. Participants will learn characterization methods using comical impersonations such as body/voice manipulation and improvise a skit using topics from the show. To top it off, one lucky person will win a pair of tickets to the original comedy that celebrates the honor, truth, humor and silliness of being a woman at the Stage Door Theater.

The Latin American Women's Association and the Education Department of the Blumenthal Center invite the community for a free Get to Know GIRLS ONLY comedy theatre workshop. The ladies of the Charlotte Comedy Theatre will explore and explain comedy theatre techniques including characterization, improvisation and pantomime employed by the cast of GIRLS ONLY: THE SECRET COMEDY OF WOMEN.
