Gyms and fitness studios are closed. That leaves most of us struggling with a serious case of cabin fever. Take a Broadway Break by trying one of these workouts or playlists to get your body moving again. We’ve got them organized into three categories, including fun dance routines, the best Broadway cardio music mixes, and legit core workouts.

GOTTA DANCE!

These workouts are a fun way to burn calories and learn some new Broadway choreography with step-by-step instructions.

1. Try this 15 minute Broadway workout for all levels featuring the song “Where Do You Belong?” from MEAN GIRLS.

2. If you like it, you’ll want to check out other videos from Joseph Corella of 567 Broadway. A choreographer, Broadway performer, and dance teacher,  he makes it all look easy! You can choose from more than 30 different Broadway show dance tutorials.

3. Need a kid-friendly activity? Check out this video led by Broadway choreographer Christopher Gattelli, featuring “Seize the Day” from NEWSIES. Designed as part of Michelle Obama’s Get Up and Go initiative, this is a super fun routine—newspaper and partner are optional.

4. This Broadway Workout is AWESOME. It includes a whopping 131 songs, often with multiple selections from each musical included. Many songs are from hit shows you’re bound to know but it also includes some rare finds, like BAT BOY THE MUSICAL, NEXT TO NORMAL, and WONDERLAND. Note: a few of the songs include explicit lyrics.

5. Broadway Workout Mix is another great collection with 63 songs. Some of the cool finds include songs from SIX, THE LAST FIVE YEARS, 21 CHUMP STREET, PARADE and HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. Again, beware: a few of the songs include explicit lyrics.

6. If you’re looking for something more compact, Broadway Cardio Workout Playlist  features 20 songs, including music from shows like AIDA, HAMILTON, THE WIZ and THE COLOR PURPLE.

7. Musicals for Your Workout features almost three hours of music—45 songs in all. Super eclectic with no more than one song per show, ranging from DAMN YANKEES and DREAM GIRLS to JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and SPRING AWAKENING.

9. Performer and choreographer Spencer Liff (HEAD OVER HEELS, SPRING AWAKENING) offers this fabulous workout routine via playbill.com with a variety of weightless exercises for beginners, intermediate and advanced to strengthen your core for a Broadway Body. Step by step photos breaking down the moves make it easy to follow along.

10. Isaac’s Full Body Broadway Workout, a 27-minute routine from celebrity trainer/ choreographer and Broadway dancer Isaac Calpito, gives you an idea of how Broadway performers stay in shape. Assumes some knowledge of dance vocab (1st position, 2nd position, etc.) and uses light weights. This one comes with a pulsing soundtrack of club music rather than Broadway tunes.
