Blumenthal Performing Arts is looking to the future with the announcement of an exciting and spectacular 2020-21 Broadway Season. We are also committed to continuing our many educational and community access programs like Ticket Scholarships, School Shows, The Blumey Awards and Junior Theater Celebration Charlotte.
We are grateful for our current Business Leaders for the Arts members who have made a charitable contribution of $1,000 or more to Blumenthal Performing Arts. These contributions help to support a critical community asset and provide educational and arts access programs to children and families across the region.
The Blumenthal Business Leaders for the Arts is a corporate giving society that helps us employ the arts as a major catalyst, strengthening education, building community, and advancing economic growth. Your support helps us provide programs and impact our community while also providing opportunities for you and your employees to forge deeper connections with the arts and artists who grace our stages.
A large portion of operating costs are covered through earned revenues like tickets sales, but it is the support of our donors that allow key mission programs like ticket scholarships, The Blumey Awards, community festivals and many others, to exist. Ticketing revenues have been impacted from cancelled shows, which means we are more dependent on contributed income for our operating support.
If you are already a supporter, THANK YOU! We are grateful! If you'd like to help keep these programs alive in the community, we hope your company will consider getting involved through the Blumenthal Business Leaders for the Arts.
The Federal CARES Act signed in March of 2020 provides tax benefits for corporate donors on qualifying contributions made in 2020. The new law temporarily lifts the limit from 10% to 25% of modified taxable income for 2020 filings. Please visit blumenthalarts.org/support-us for more information and consult your accountant or tax preparer for how they can help you help others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
