Charlotte’s Hottest Graffiti Artists will take over Spirit Square at the 1st Annual Graffiti Jam on April 25

Charlotte, NC (Monday, April 20, 2015) – Vibrant street art will come to life at the 1st Annual Graffiti Jam, a free outdoor event taking place at Spirit Square in Uptown (345 N. College Street) on Saturday, April 25, from 12 to 2 p.m. 

“We are excited to bring this unique opportunity and celebration of artistic expression to our city this weekend,” said Blumenthal President Tom Gabbard. “It is important to Blumenthal to create outlets for artists of all kinds here in Charlotte and we’re doing that in a big way with Graffiti Jam.”

Spirit Square will be buzzing with live graffiti art demonstrations, dance cyphers, live DJ's and much more. People of all ages are invited to try their hand at tagging or just enjoy the talent of local graffiti artists as they paint canvases of all shapes and sizes.

Graffiti Jam is part of Blumenthal’s new Arts on the Edge initiative, which promises to bring nothing but the most exciting and unique events to the Queen City. Over the course of about six months, show fans will see several hip-hop inspired events in Blumenthal’s lineup, culminating in a world-renowned celebration of hip hop dance culture called Breakin’ Convention, complete with live DJs, graffiti, workshops and performances on October 9-10, 2015 in Knight Theater at Levine Center for the Arts.

“These events are not only entertaining but also important for our city, as they bring different cultures together to showcase art to the community that inspires them,” said Director of Fuzion Force Entertainment Academy and one of the Arts on the Edge consultants Tom Hill.
