Blume Studios Guest Services Representative - Part Time

Position Summary
Blumenthal Arts seeks a team of high-energy, people focused Guest Services Representatives to provide essential operational support for experiences, performances, and other events at Blume Studios. Under the limited supervision of the Immersive Operations Manager and regular supervision of the Front of House Manager, Guest Service Representatives support the Operations team in a variety of Front of House and Marketing functions. These include greeting and scanning tickets at venue entry, leading guests through any necessary onboarding/orientation, and engaging with guests after their experience to collect feedback. This is a temporary, part-time shift-based position and may include weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Availability of shifts will fluctuate with the schedule of Blume Studios.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome and guide guests through the initial phases of the experience/event including ticket scanning and wayfinding in the venue. Accurately read and interpret tickets to facilitate efficient patron entry.
- Ensure guests are familiar with the experience/event schedule and distribute any necessary wristbands, lanyards, name tags, tickets, or event-specific items such as headphones to guests.
- Deliver an engaging live speech that explains experience/event rules and expectations to groups of 10-30 people at a time.
- Assist latecomers according to policies and procedures and attend to guests with special needs.
- Greet guests when they exit the experience/event to collect both verbal and written feedback and encourage them to leave online reviews.
- Communicate any technical difficulties or delays in experience/event flow to the Immersive Operations Manager.
- Collect and properly store any items from guests that need to be returned at the end of the event.
- Maintain high energy, brand-accurate interactions that excite and reassure guests of all ages and backgrounds.
- Assist with VIP groups, media broadcasts, rentals, and special events as needed.
- Assist the Operations team with pre-defined tasks during emergencies, ensuring a safe and efficient evacuation process for both fire and non-fire emergencies.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in technical theater, theatrical performance, or communications preferred.
- 1-3 years in guest services, immersive entertainment, hospitality, theatre, and/or themed attractions desirable.
- Experience in immersive or non-traditional performance spaces is a plus.

Physical Requirements
- Intermediate fine motor skills of the hands – must be able to handle, feel, and adequately operate electronic tablets and pager recall systems.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and in dimly lit environments.
- Stand and sit for extended periods
- Occasionally stoop, kneel or crawl
- Occasionally reach overhead.
- Close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision required
- Respond quickly in emergency situations
