(April 23, 2024) Charlotte, NC – Blumenthal Arts announced Christy Majors as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With more than two decades of experience in finance and accounting, Majors has dedicated the majority of her career to the not-for-profit sector in Charlotte. As CFO, Majors will oversee Blumenthal Arts' financial strategy.

Majors has demonstrated strong leadership and skill through a variety of senior positions. Since 2019, she has served as Chief Financial Officer at McLeod Centers for Wellbeing. From 2007–2019, she served in various roles at Queens University, including Controller, Treasurer, and Associate Vice President. From 2002–2007, she served in a variety of finance roles at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry.

“This was a highly competitive search involving members of our staff, trustees, and an international recruitment firm,” said Blumenthal Arts President and CEO Tom Gabbard. “We look forward to welcoming Christy to our Blumenthal staff family. Her experience and knowledge will play an important role in helping us continue to grow as an organization, and in our service to the community."

“Opting to remain in Charlotte post-college was significantly shaped by the chance to reside in a city with an exceptional arts and culture scene,” Majors said. “Over the past two decades, I've experienced a diverse array of artistic encounters facilitated by Blumenthal Arts. Beyond merely enjoying these offerings, I recognize the pivotal role Blumenthal Arts plays in advocating for arts education and fostering youth engagement in the arts—an endeavor I deem essential for our community. I am thrilled to become part of this forward-thinking organization, where I will contribute financial leadership to bolster its mission and cultivate fresh cultural experiences for our community.”
